Dr. BASHIR Aliyu UMAR, a distinguished Islamic scholar born in Kano, Nigeria, in 1961, was deeply rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an and the Hadith from his early years in the culturally vibrant region of the Arewa. His academic journey, spanning from Ahmadu Bello University to the Islamic University of Madina, where he specialized in the Sciences of Hadith, showcased his commitment to both secular knowledge, pursuing Electrical Engineering, and spiritual enlightenment through Islamic Studies, culminating in the attainment of his B.A, M.A, and PhD degrees.
Dr. BASHIR’s legacy as a beacon of knowledge and guidance in Islamic scholarship is characterized by his profound immersion in Maliki fiqh and Usul, guided by traditional Ulamaโ, and his impactful tenure at Bayero University Kano.
