Sheikh ASSIM AL-HAKEEM, born on November 23, 1962, in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, hails from a lineage steeped in Islamic tradition, tracing back to Indonesia. This heritage greatly influenced his early passion for Islamic studies, which blossomed when his family moved to Jeddah. Initially enrolled at King Fahd University, he shifted his academic focus to English literature at King Abdulaziz University, graduating in 1987. His pursuit of Islamic knowledge continued at Umm al-Qura University, where he obtained a high diploma in Islamic studies in 1998. Under the mentorship of Shaykh Salih Ibn Uthaymeen, Sheikh ASSIM developed a profound understanding of Al kitaab was Sunnah and the teachings of the pious predecessors, forming the foundation of his approach to Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah and Manhajus Sunnah.
Sheikh ASSIM’s career is distinguished by over two decades of service as an Imam in Jeddah, where he leads Friday prayers and offers lectures on Islamic sciences. His fluency in English has positioned him as a prominent figure in disseminating the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah to a global audience, particularly through media channels like Huda TV and Peace TV. His dedication to Da’wah extends beyond the mosque, as he participates in international seminars advocating the teachings of the Salaf i.e Salafus salih.
